WASHINGTON — Stephen K. Bannon, President Trump’s former chief strategist, was subpoenaed last week by the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, to testify before a grand jury as part of the investigation into possible links between Mr. Trump’s associates and Russia, according to a person with direct knowledge of the matter.

Since he was a senior member of Trump's campaign he was almost certainly a direct or indirect target of FISA surveillance ... which means his "dossier" is in the hands of Rep. Devin Nunes already.
Bannon will have to be prepared to confirm or deny every quote that has been attributed to him in that book — or maybe explain why the context was totally inaccurate.

Since Bannon was considered both a maverick and a one-time Trump insider, why did it take nine or ten months for this to happen?
No doubt Mueller has all the telephone calls, emails, text messages, etc. made and received by Bannon. No doubt they are trying to set a perjury trap for him. Hopefully, he is ready.
I’m surprised he hasn’t been subpoenaed already, considering all the blabbing and making up stuff he did while he was in the White House.
Even if Pres. Trump would be impeached by a Democrat House, he will not be convicted by a Republican Senate, not because they love him, but because that would be the end of the Republican Party.
I have no idea why Trump is allowing this endless “investigation” to continue.
After a year, he should have demanded they either show some evidence of meaningful tampering with the election, or disbanded them.

I wouldn’t count on bannon sticking with the President. Hell hath no fury like a professional man being dissed by another higher professional man, and then getting the chance to retaliate.

The $64,000 question. Bannon and Trump have had such a public falling out and Bannon's self destructing career make me worried that he might say anything and strike out at not only Trump, but also his family and WH staff.
Mueller is not looking for Russian collusion, which isn’t even a crime. Mueller is looking for dirt on Trump. Hence the desire to talk to Bannon.
