Byron York: Yes, Congress has seen Trump-Russia secret court surveillance documents. Now what?

One of the most contentious issues surrounding the Trump dossier is the question of whether the FBI used unverified material from the dossier — a Clinton campaign opposition research product — to apply for permission to spy on Americans. Investigators from both House and Senate have long wanted to see any FISA applications (that is, spying requests filed with the secret Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act court) that dealt with the Trump-Russia affair.

Now, they have seen them.

Sources on both Capitol Hill and in the executive branch have confirmed that representatives of four committees — the House Intelligence Committee, Senate Intelligence Committee, House Judiciary Committee, and Senate Judiciary Committee — have had the opportunity to examine FISA documents in a secure room at the Justice Department. They were not allowed to take the documents out of the room or to copy them, but they could make notes. They thus know the answer to the was-the-dossier-used-for-spying question.

I so agree! We have in 702 a frontal assault on the 4th amendment. Did you know that they want to expand it for “criminal” investigations?think of that! Warrantless searches in “criminal” investigations!! Insanity. Trump is not properly advised on this yet.

Yes, and there is ample evidence that this has actually already happened. Not to set you off further, but for example:

And now.... crickets chirping.

What will happen now? A very large bucket of absolutely nothing.

Wasn’t referring to the President. Was referring to all these GOP congressmen who have gone to DOJ to view the evidence. One of them needs to stand up and spill the beans, classified or not.

The crap needs to end.

My thoughts, exactly! What are the chances that this would not have leaked if the Democrats had seen information that bolstered their theory-of-the-crime? ZERO.

I heard Mike Lee last night . They are on to this as a sham. I think 702 is in real trouble on a filibuster unless they bar spying on us citizens completely without a regular warrant. I cant believe they would even consider otherwise. 702 is covered up in the government shut down but it is in real trouble. dont see 60 votes. Wyden is leading the DEMs on this and for once, I agree with him. This has to be stopped. Im fairly certain it will be struck down by SCOTUS if it isn’t but it is a horrible over reach to control our lives and any politician for this abortion should pay a stiff political price.

“It’s abundantly clear at this point that this is all beltway theater...”

Very true. I seen too much it from the likes of Darrel Issa and Trey Gowdy with their various “investigations”.
