Facebooks Mark Zuckerberg is fighting for changes to U.S. immigration policy - and encouraging those on Facebook to call their congressional leaders to do the same.
Zuckerberg posted on his Facebook page Wednesday in support of Dreamers, undocumented immigrants who were brought to the United States as children.
Every day that Congress doesnt act more DACA recipients are losing their status, Zuckerberg wrote Wednesday. This is a basic question of whether our government works. Can Congress come together and find a path forward, or will we default to forcing almost one million people out of their jobs and country?
Zuckerberg added that hes been calling members of Congress, and encouraged others to do the same.
Zuckerberg isnt the only big-time tech executive taking an interest in Dreamers. His counterpart at Facebook, chief operating officer Sheryl Sandberg, also posted on Wednesday shortly after Zuckerberg, calling the expiration of the DACA program cruel.
Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, the worlds richest man, who has historically been very quiet when it comes to philanthropy or social issues, also donated $33 million just last week to help fund college scholarships for undocumented students.

Oh, those poor little Obama-Dreamers!
Someone needs to ask all these blankety blank anti Americans “why do you want to import all these dangerous people you know nothing about?”.. just to make them say it outloud instead of letting them never explain their “whys”. Yes, it’s for votes, but zuckerberg isn’t in Washington... yet. They don’t have to live with them or by them or near them... and they have a vote on who WE live with/by/near!!
Since the average price of a home near Zuck, is at least 4M, its unlikely any of these “Dreamers” will be neighbors.
>>or will we default to forcing almost one million people out of their jobs and country?
It ain’t their country by law. Thst’s how they can be sent back HOME.
Hard for me to do that, as I’ve never used FAILbook. I’ve NEVER wanted anything to do with it. The whole concept instantly made me think of the Vanity Faire in Pilgrim’s Progress.
Over time, the gut instincts I had about it back in ‘05 have not been proven wrong.
Facebook is dangerous and inappropriate for children
I really want to ask this guy (and Bezos too) about non-illegal kids in America who have dreams, but because they’re not “special” they can just fork over tons of cash for “schooling” and be in debt for the rest of their lives. Ticks me off to watch my kids struggling while all these elite 1%’ers cry about the poor “Dreamers” and “fairness”. Can I just pick and choose what laws I want to follow too? What if I like to speed but when caught, say I didn’t “intend” to go too fast, can I just tear up the ticket and drive off Scot free?
