Shutdown State of Play: What’s Really Going On?...

Late last night, the House passed a month-long funding bill (known as a Continuing Resolution). The bill funds the government until February 16 and reauthorizes the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) for six years.

To break a filibuster in the Senate, 60 votes are required (this is known as “achieving cloture”). It’s essentially a decision by the Senate to bring debate to a close.

However, in this current Senate, there are only 51 Republicans — not enough to break a filibuster by the Democrats, who have publicly stated their intention to filibuster the spending bill. In order for a spending bill to pass the Senate, a minimum of nine of the 47 Democrats must vote in favor (assuming all Republicans vote for it).

By telegraphing their intention to withhold their support, Democrats are filibustering, knowing full well that their actions will result in a government shutdown.

Make them filibuster. They are just hanging a big sign around their own necks, saying: “We shut down the government! We hate US citizens! We love illegals more!”

The media will try to spin this as Trump’s fault. They will fail. The people who intentionally filibuster to intentionally kill the budget and intentionally shut down the government are Democrats. Very hard not to see this.

The “shutdown” is a distraction from the 4-page report on the Hussein’s administration weaponization of FBI/DOJ/State to spy on an opposition party candidate, then his transition and administration.

Dem shutdown tactics managed to stop the market’s upward momentum. Maybe that was part of their strategy? I wouldn’t put it past them. They were getting beat up pretty bad by the market’s strong surge since Trump’s election.

Let the Democrats shut down the government of the US citizens to fight for illegal aliens to be able to ignore our laws.

Multi-pronged strategy by the Dems appears to be:

1. protect the future immigrant votes they want to harvest

2. distract people from learning about their nefarious FISA scheme

3. Slow down the stock market advance

If Trump wants to hit the Democrat base hard and put maximum pressure on the Dem’s, he needs to announce that during the “Chucky Schumer Shutdown” there will be no IRS refund checks.

Laws don’t matter to Demorats unless they favor their positions...

They are saying they will ‘fall on their swords” for illegals when in fact it’s falling on their swords for ‘voters’ they intend to utilize and positioned to favor and work for their elections...THEIR jobs and the huge advantages ‘for gaining personal wealth’ keeping those jobs affords them.

Clearly the solution is to deport them all.....but you do that and they will surely be in the streets by ‘the millions’, as Obama made a point to increase their numbers by huge margins.... and the demo activists who will indeed rile them up big time.

Mexico’s government ‘and people’ have been a parasite on the back of American citizens for decades.....they are not going to let go of their stronghold in this country without fighting.......they WANT the USA and mexico operating as one entity period....with ‘controlled but open borders.

Thank you for referencing that article caww. Please note that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

"To break a filibuster in the Senate, 60 votes are required (this is known as “achieving cloture”). It’s essentially a decision by the Senate to bring debate to a close."

FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument

Patriots are reminded that the corrupt, post-17th Amendment ratification Congress has no constitutional authority to debate any unconstitutional bills going through Congress, bills based on powers that the states have never expressly constitutionally delegated to the feds the specific power to make.

From related threads …

In other words, many bills are based on stolen state powers and stolen state revenues uniquely associated with those powers, state revenues stolen by means of unconstitutional federal taxes.

So even if the Senate allowed unlimited debate on a bill, Congress’s constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers “prohibits” discussions of many issues, unless such discussions deal with proposing to the states new amendments to the Constitution for new federal powers.

In fact, if a bill dealing with domestic policy isn't reasonably related to the US Mail Service (1.8.7), then patriots can bet that it is unconstitutional and probably be right most of the time.

Patriots now need to be making sure that there are plenty of Trump-supporting, state sovereignty-respecting patriot candidate lawmakers on the 2018 primary ballots, and pink-slip career lawmakers by sending patriot candidate lawmakers to DC on election day.

And until the states wake up and repeal the 17th Amendment, as evidenced by concerns about the integrity of Alabama's special Senate election, patriot candidates need to win elections by a large enough margin to compensate for possible deep state ballot box fraud and associated MSM scare tactics.

You referenced......

“The smart crooks long ago figured out that getting themselves elected to federal office to make unconstitutional tax laws to fill their pockets is a much easier way to make a living than robbing banks.” —me

also...”Federal career lawmakers probably laugh all the way to the bank to deposit bribes for putting loopholes for the rich and corporations in tax appropriations laws, Congress actually not having the express constitutional authority to make most appropriations laws where domestic policy is concerned. Such laws are based on stolen state powers and uniquely associated stolen state revenues.” —me

I agree....I've looked at those who have gained substantial wealth while in Government positions....who did not have it so prior. It's known for decades being in politics is all about getting revenue passed around and opportunities to gain that.... when it comes to arresting or charging the guilty it's always the low folks on the pole ...if that. And fewer still who actually go to jail.

I use to think just cut off the Congressional Leaders apy and see how they like it.....trouble with that is that pay is not where they make their money.....it’s all the corrupt venues they are privy to where they fill their pockets.

Yes.

Senator McConnell needs to make the Democrats stand up and give their little speeches of support for ... themselves ... hour after hour, day after day, with all of that insanity televised. of course.

This time, I think Senator McConnell should NOT surrender to a mere “threat” to filibuster.

Then, after all the goose-stepping Democrats have talked themselves hoarse, America’s patriots will win the cloture vote and then the government funding bill will pass.

Please remember that the “filibuster rule” is NOT a part of our Constitution. It is just a Senate passed “rule”, like the rule about how many sharp pencils need to be provided at each Senator’s “desk”.
