I reeeally think there will turn out to have been dr shopping.

There has been talk of requiring doctors and pharmacists to consult a statewide database on opioid prescriptions so as to prevent doctor shopping. Pennsylvania is one of several states that have instituted one but I’m not sure if participation is mandatory. Some would like it to be a nationwide database.

Of course and understandably there are those who are against it citing privacy concerns and fears of abuse of such data gathering especially on those who are not abusing the drugs and have legitimate needs for them.
