my take on the shutdown is Trump, who I’m sure has had many labor relations experiences in his building / contracting businesses views this as a “ strike”. Sometimes one needs to be taken to break the cycle of brinksmanship that is often at the heart of this.

Absolutely. No presidential signature on anything less than full government spending through September 30, 2019. And a clean spending bill.

The DACA pressure is on the Dems, not Trump. I would love to find out that the President could legally sign an EO to "get the busses running on March 19", the day after the previous EO runs out, and all of these illegals are officially recognized as illegals.

The advantage of running the busses to Mexico is that any other border destination would require that the DACA's either start swimming or have to speak French to avoid other legal troubles. At least when they get to Mexico they can just start walking.

Why is DACA in the budget in the first place?

Thank you!

And why isn't this the main question being asked loud and clear, by anyone who is not heavily biased toward "the enemy within"?

If the shutdown goes on we have to be ready to make sure everyone knows its the Shumer Shutdown and they are not opposed to anything we put up.They just want the govt. closed down for political reasons. As long as we can get that message out we win they lose.

The mid-east has been a disaster/no-win or short term wins only, for decades. It has to do with so many players unacknowledged like the CIA that ran roughshod all over the place making it impossible to avoid the chaos they created.

There is a significant number of issues that bypass the usual "cloture" routine. The 1974 Budget Act, for example, sets up legislative procedure that substitutes for cloture. Martin B. Gold & Dimple Gupta, The Constitutional Option to Change Senate Rules and Procedures: A Majoritarian Means to Overcome the Filibuster, 28 Harv. J.L. & Pub. Pol'y 205 (2004)

See too, Congressional Record May 19, 2005, remarks of Senator Smith starting on page S5467 ...

There are, in fact, 26 laws on our books today abrogating the right of a Senator to filibuster. For example, you cannot filibuster a Federal budget resolution. ...

Another restriction is that you cannot filibuster a reconciliation bill. ...

You cannot filibuster a resolution authorizing the use of force--the War Powers Resolution. You cannot filibuster international trade agreements, and that is called the Bipartisan Trade Promotion Authority. You cannot filibuster legislation under the Nuclear Waste Policy Act of 1982.

IMHO, Obama, Clinton and their “lock-step” political goons can rant, and rumble all they want and desire, but, they are still simply “political losers and deadbeats” from days long past.

The Democrat Party is dying politically with each passing day, suffering it’s very own self-inflicted wounds that are slowly, but, surely killing it politically. Obama, Clinton, Holder, Schumer, Pelosi are going nowhere, other then becoming totally obscure and “lost-at-sea”. The acid filled swamp and “Satan” eagerly awaits them.

So why isn’t it on the President’s desk now? I think there is more political hay from dangling it rather than releasing it and letting it stand on its merits. I just remember back in the Clinton days and the latest smoking gun to rid us of him. I fear this is not going to bring what’s being hyped. Otherwise it would be on the President’s desk for release.

I read somewhere, maybe Conservative Treehouse, the memo is the work product of the Nunes sub-committee, therefore Nunes makes the call. Ryan cannot step on his toes and make the call.

Process!

More interesting reading ..... Dems trying to come up with an NRA/Russia collusion scenario.

Collusion 3.0 [Powerline]

Andrew McCarthy gives Collusion 3.0 its due. He has an open mind regarding the possibilities, which do not make out collusion with the Trump campaign. He is scrupulous with the details. His column performs a service. I think it is must reading. I continue to doubt that the Kremlin favored the election of Donald Trump, however, and we have yet to reckon with the Kremlin’s possible role in transmitting the dirt found in the Steele dossier.

Goldberg warns Times readers to contain their excitement: “It’s important not to get carried away, if only because a scenario in which the Russian investigation ensnares the N.R.A., probably the most influential conservative group in the United States, seems a bit too much like Resistance fan fiction, too delicious to be true.” It’s a warning that would have served Times readers well in the case of the Times stories retailing Collusion 1.0 and Collusion 2.0 as well.

Times readers aren’t giving up on Collusion 1.0 or Collusion 2.0. The process here is additive. Now we have Collusion 3.0. Scott Fitzgerald held that the test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function, but why stop at two opposed ideas? Times readers will test the outer limits of Fitzgerald’s proposition.

Collusion 3.0: Russia and the NRA [McCarthy]

So why isn’t it on the President’s desk now?

I think Thomas Wictor may have answered that question here.

The TSA needs to be trimmed down. When half the airport are TSA agents you have a problem.

What we really need in their place are teams of accent analysts and Christian comedians, telling Mad Moe jokes to suspect passengers in a little room. Provocative (to terrorists) cartoons and images should be hanging along the security corridor.

Years ago, soon after Obama was sworn in I had his character nailed and knew the Democrats where selling their souls to the devil and it will come back to destroy them.

Lets hope I was right.

Wait till the Dem shows up after Mulvaney.
He broke it down into three pieces, Appropriate, Authorize, and some sort of pre-authorize.

The Dim realized he was getting into the weeds and actually demonstrating how Politicians deceive (no wonder POTUS was p1ssed!)

The Dim lowered his voice and quickly segwayed into some other talking point.

You could have a point. There may be considerations known only to the president and a few insiders that have kept him from releasing the memo however I think it will be released and soon.

...............

Anyone who watched the last 15 minutes of the ABC panel with Stuff Stephy had to be truly outraged at the lying and spinning of dem operatives. They spun and lied about everything they possible could which shows just how desperate the broke dems are getting. Here in Fla. they had to abandon their Fla. headquarters since they ran out of money to pay the rent!!

Only young Meghan McCain was there to counter and she did a lousy job as stuffy knew she would that's why she was there.

They used phony polls to prove their lying suppositions on everything and then compounded it all. These driveby networks are through. Nothing they put forth should be believed until 100% thoroughly vetted.

Yeah...you didn't read Obamacare before you passed it either...
