why don’t they let them filibuster and make them do it non-stop 24/7 till the government reopens.

Actually, yes. It saved us from Hillarycare in 1993, and bought us 20 years of top-notch health care. It also forced Obamacare to be so screwed up that it’s on its deathbed.
Where it hasn’t helped is with the Supreme Court, but we’ve already put an end to that issue.
Yes, they have stopped a lot over the years, and don’t forget about keeping Scalia’s seat open for a year.
