Disenfranchise is such a harsh word! But I meant it as a conversation starter... Maybe I should have said bureaucrats should not vote, or unelected bureaucrats who make and enforce policy. By joining the Northern Virginia and Maryland suburbs to the District, residents would not have a vote in congressional elections.
And maybe military people should have two votes, as they actually have skin in the game.

English only ballots. It is a waste otherwise.

I thought Trump was going to take care of this when he took care of the illegal voting. I bet he doesn’t have A List. Everyone needs A List. In his case perhaps his should be in the pocket where he has his loose change. No voting unless you read and write and speak English.

Maybe the best thing that can happen in the long-run...when the DC burbs look more like Sweden with rape zones where even the police won’t go, they’ll be able to fully experience the policies those who work in the federal government seem to think are so great.

Good idea.

Also, other gang member illegals (that we can't deport immediately) could be housed in the five wealthiest countries in the United States - those clustered around Washington DC.

Let Peggy Noonan, MSNBC talent and the FBI ruler wannabees dictators show us the 'right way' to assimilate these people. I'd be more than happy to have my taxes raised to cover the cost of tearing down some of the DC Mansions so ALL the 'elites' have a chance to their share assimilating these 'undocumented' criminal gang bangers.

DC is occupied territory. Dominanted by enemies, foreign and domestic.

This is the type of stupidity that really makes me wonder if there is any gray matter in people’s heads:

“There will be cries from activists that more needs to be done in Fairfax to “protect” illegal aliens from deportation. Indeed, activists yesterday showed typical ingratitude by demanding more.”

Protecting “illegal aliens” from being charged and acted upon by federal representatives for the knowing violation of the US Constitution and laws established by our supreme court is one of the top idiotic things said in a number of years. These idiots don’t even try to use the term undocumented. They blatantly tell the truth and defy someone to do anything about it. The feds should toss that sheriff’s whole lock down for info and get everyone he’s got, charge them, and ship them right before the sheriff says he is going to turn them loose. And let his voters know he is responsible for the taxpayer money being used to feed and house them during their stay. You get into the voters pocketbook enough, and they don’t vote you back in.

No worries.

Here’s the ironic thing though about Northern Virginia. If you look at the relative cost to live in a single family house in Fairfax County, Falls Church, Alexandria City, Arlington County, etc., You would find that it is very difficult for a government employee to be able to afford a decent house in those areas. In fact, most of the people who live there do not actually work for the federal government. I am doing this from my phone, so it would be difficult for me to research, screenshot, and post the actual data... But in fact, if memory serves, only about 9 or 10% of the residents of those counties work for the federal government. Most of your government workers actually live farther out where it is cheaper.

The real problem with Northern Virginia is the same problem that exists in most metropolitan areas in the country — and that is that they are just simply more liberal than the rest of the state that surrounds the metropolitan area. For example, you could look at Atlanta. Far more left-wing than the rest of Georgia. Or you could look at the People’s Republic of Austin. Again, it doesn’t even look like they are from the same planet as the state of Texas. And I could go on and on. The bottom line is that people in cities and in suburbs tend to not be as self-sufficient as those who live farther out. And, sadly, many of them tend to slip into liberalism as a result of this.

Have you ever tried to get a building permit in Fairfax County, or meet with some petty official there? Almost never will you encounter anyone whose first language was English.

Never going to happen. There is no political will to do so. The Dems and RINOs will call it discriminatory and a way to depress the vote and take away a citizen’s right to vote. Our laws even allow someone to accompany the voter to the voting booth and help them if they can’t read, blind, or disabled. I say that someone who has been both a poll monitor and election officer in Fairfax County.

No, but I could believe it. Despite being the third richest county in America, there is a growing population of poor people who live on the fringe.

Shameful act by Fairfax County

I presume they will be erecting a statue of George Corley Wallace any day now?

How is the government at Washington able to pass any laws at all pertaining to the way the States choose Electors?

The Constitution provides for the Electoral College, but the states can choose the electors any way they see fit. The federal government can get involved in issues like violations of civil rights that prevent voters from exercising their right to vote.

I don’t understand why officials like this Sheriff cannot be arrested for conspiracy and held accountable when criminals are released to commit further crimes rather than turned over to ICE. I am sure that a FR attorney can explain it.
