I fail to understand the appeal of Islam.

Its pure faith and obedience, and zero logic or rationality. There are no moral quandaries as a Muslim. Hence the need for the many rulings from Ulama or Imams on asinine topics such as if Twitter should be allowed, or how thick a rod may be used to beat one's wife. It provides a type of determinist certainty for the lazy, stupid or fearful.
