I think there are some very nervous people in the swamp tonight.

It's not entirely clear what's happened, but enough details have slipped out that this is more than a guess: There was never a "glitch." There was an attempt to hide or divert the text messages, but the FBI has back-ups for its back-ups and these texts were never really "missing." It was pretty easy for higher-ups to find the person or persons who may have assisted in this attempt to hide this information, and when they were located they were given an ultimatum: Either you help us retrieve this information, or you can go to prison for 10-15. These persons weighed their options and decided to cooperate.
