That make a lot of sense........Bongino nailed it.

Missing then “found?”

In the DC swamp?

Missing. Schmissing.

Don’t important agencies like the FBI (and IRS) have a backup plan if equipment fails, was found to have been compromised, or that data is lost?

It’s impossible to believe the FBI (and the IRS) don’t have normal and regular backup procedures executed on its servers.

Where are the back-ups kept?

If no backups were executed, don’t critical agencies like the FBI (and the IRS) have a disaster recovery location?

Where is that?

IIRC, the OIG also did not answer the question of ‘when’ they became aware of the missing texts, or when the FBI notified them (which may have been different dates).

Of course the ‘deadline’ date for responding to the original request has not yet arrived, and so IMHO it’s not (yet, anyway) the right time to be overly concerned about those omissions.

I mean really, the hubris and arrogance and downright stupidity of these people (and probably many more) is amazing. What were they thinking?

Kind of a fuzzy response/letter. It did NOT say they recovered ALL messages. So, the DOJ can cherry-pick what they want to turn over and still comply fully. Slimy slimy slimy letter.

Not even the Trump hating media could swallow the “dog ate my homework” BS coming form the FBI.

This country had become a banana republic before Trump.

And that’s an insult to bananas.

I FORMALLY apologize to all bananas :)

A couple days ago it was reported they were found or someone had them (IG?) but later it was said they did not have them. Moderator may have thought this was the previous story and had been debunked.

It it tough to keep up, I get confused...one thing reported, then nope...over and over.

This has details and is not the same story as reported a few days ago. Hopefully it will stay...

Great piece on the status of the investigation. Long but worth the read:

https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/956301832741097472.html

Says this, in part: “I believe that #FisaAbuseMemo, and those 5 months of missing text messages, when they are recovered - and they will be - will show the #SecretSocietySedition group forming their plan to frame @GenFlynn & how they used their media allies to launch that plot.”

They tried very hard to convince us they were not saved to begin with because of some “glitch” in the phones they were using. That was CYA for tons of phones in use by FBI, if believed it would have been handy if other agents were implicated in something.

I am a grandma lady out in the sticks and claim no tech knowledge and even I know these texts, ETC are all over the dang place so could be tracked down even if they aren’t on the phone for whatever reason.

To me the story they have been trying to sell us is worse than the dog ate my homework...it is more like the dog ate all of the students homework every day in every class.

Just out of curiosity, wouldn't a counter-intelligence master at the FBI understand that his cell phone texts are backed up several times? This particular story almost sounds like strategic deception for the purpose of slowly telling Americans the whole story. If Democrats can begin to believe the facts that are about to be revealed, we may avoid a civil war.

Regarding post 88, http://www.businessinsider.com/lawyers-robert-mueller-hired-for-the-trump-russia-investigation-2017-6/#michael-dreeben-1

The article includes the names of the attorney’s on Mueller’s team, including Aaron Zelinsky and Aaron Zebley. Since Page/Shrek are comparing Shrek to Aaron, I wonder if it is one of these 2 Aaron’s??

From the article linked above, “Zebley is a longtime FBI staffer who spent years in the counterterrorism division as a special agent before becoming the agency’s chief of staff under Mueller’s leadership.

Between FBI stints, Zebley served as assistant US attorney in the national security and terrorism unit. He then moved to the DOJ’s national security division before eventually joining the WilmerHale firm in 2014. He, like Quarles and Rhee, left his job at the firm to work on Mueller’s investigation.”

It must be Zebley because Zelinsky didn’t join the team until June.

Also noticed this, “Quarles, like other lawyers working on the probe, has also faced scrutiny for donating almost $33,000 to politicians in past years. Although most of the donations went to Democrats — including Obama and Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaigns — FEC records show he has also donated small amounts to Republicans such as Utah Rep. Jason Chaffetz.”
