What is it with people these days? I realize no one wants to lose a job, but come on. People are not powerless in such situations. How about just saying no? Record the conversation. Take pictures and blackmail the SOB. Or just walk out. Quit on the spot. The assistant is not a slave and most definitely did not HAVE to clean up such a mess. Take a picture, print it, then send it to every board of directors member. Make noise. The only reason such stuff happens is because people are cowardly and let it happen.
Two of the most empowering things to ever happen to me was:
1) Getting railroaded and fired from a job.
2) Walking off right after I told the boss, “I QUIT”.
