Happened to me, once. Company eliminated several ranges of pay grades. I was dropped from a salaried position to "admin assistant". I was considered essential personnel, though, so was given a 10% raise.
The raise, plus being able to charge overtime, more than made up for the loss of job stature.

Ah yes, it seems I’ve heard this refrain before once or twice. I believe it goes, “Perhaps you’re not aware of just who it is you’re dealing with here!”
The proper response is, “Yes, I believe I do. And you forgot to bring your plunger.”
My thought was that they would be tempted to play politics with the requests as well, giving Trump’s people a verifiable excuse for termination.
They might recover their red stapler—burn the building down—walk away mumbling...
Chuckles. Yep, but what’s the down side?
I would like to hear more about these thieves and their performance bonuses. Follow the money, as in these useless eaters at State despise Donald Trump. But the real reason they are squealing like stuck pigs is no more secret performance bonuses and no more yearly automatic climbing up the GS pay scale.
Isn’t it standard procedure for the new administration to shuffle and/or lay off people from the old one? Every one of these lawsuits should be summarily dismissed as frivolous.
