Actually the memo is very indicative of the “State of the Union.” If not released before, it should be read during the State of the Union Address.

AFAIK, the Executive Branch (White House -- to supersede the criminal DOJ/FBI) has 5-day approval/veto power re the release.

Executive Branch cannot compel Legislative Branch to do anything.

None of this matters because, “Trump is evil”.
I have very little confidence in ths memo causing any more than a ripple and the press will ignore it and at the very most label it as a manufactured hoax.

The time for decorum is over. We’re already in a Constitutional crisis and it needs to be exposed to the people now.

No he cannot. It’s a product of the House. That is a different arm of government. He cannot release something they produce.

It's a product of both the House and the Executive branch.

It requires approval from both.

The President can not release the memo until the House sends it to him. They own it and no one else can release it.

A federal judge might try to block the public release but it won't work. POTUS is THE Classification Authority for the United States of America. ALL other classification authorities derive their statutory authority from him.

Documents are classified so as to protect information, the release of which would be damaging to the national interest. The level of classification, and hence the protective measures taken, is directly related to nature of the information.

If the President decides something, anything, should be declassified and published then, ipso facto, it is. Period. There is NO RECOURSE to the courts.

That said, I seriously doubt there is anything in the memo that is otherwise classified. The memo is a summary of the findings of the House Intel Committee. Anything classified would be found in various appendices which would be individually classified depending on the nature and source of the information. It is important to note that it is the information which makes a document classified and NOT the markings on the document. This is why Hillary committed felony when she sent and received emails containing classified information regardless of the presence or absence of required markings.

As week speak, the FBI is probably meeting with Repub members of the Intel committee to review the files of dirt they've collected on them. Evidence of affairs, shady business deals, visits to gay bath houses, etc.

A couple members of the committee will "volunteer" to be the bad guys and vote against the release, and the memo and all the evidence backing it will be forever buried, only to be re-discovered in 50 years by some historian digging through the government warehouse.

I couldn’t bear to have such a pessimistic view of the world. I have to believe that things will work out for the best in this best of all possible Panglossian world.

“But Sessions says no.”

Sessions recused himself from the Russia matter, so it’s Rosenstein’s pushback. Unless you have a source to cite?

The memo is a product of the house.

Why is that so difficult to understand. Trump is not king, although there are many around here who would love it to be so.

Sessions minion, Stephen Boyd, said so.

“CNN has obtained a copy of the letter sent by Assistant Attorney General Stephen Boyd to committee Chairman Devin Nunes.

The letter asks “why the Committee would possibly seek to disclose classified and law enforcement sensitive information without first consulting with the relevant members of the intelligence community.”

“Stephen Boyd is an American lawyer who currently serves as the United States Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Legislative Affairs. Boyd graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law. He served as the communications director for Jeff Sessions when Sessions was serving as a U.S. Senator”

My point went over your head.

The memo most likely isn't a product of just the House.

If the memo contains classified executive branch information received in an executive session by the HPSCI, then the president should have final say over the release of any of that information.

Unfortunately the HPSCI rules take that decision away from the Chief Executive. I believe that's unconstitutional.

No Trump isn't king, but he is Chief Executive.
