I think Brian is under the misapprehension that government schools exist to educate youngsters. The singular purpose of these schools is to provide a middle class job for adults.
And to guarantee those adults a long, very nice retirement at public expense.
With central government controlling school teacher training and curriculum, I submit their goal is to crank out voters for socialistic causes - the Democrat agenda.
I know the President wants to transfer much of the Department of Education back to the States. It will be tough with the powerful teachers unions and the screaming urban teacher protestors.
