I might also add that you should eat a clove of raw garlic each day. It's an acquired taste but I look forward to my clove of garlic after dinner.

Seriously, I chew it up and swallow it. Usually washed down with a glass of wine or beer. You get used to the burning sensation and I actually like the taste.

I almost never get a cold and I've never had one while taking garlic each day. I know they have garlic pills but I can't vouch for those.

I love garlic! I don’t eat it by itself & raw, but put it in a lot of the food I cook, lightly sauteed. There are some homemade dressings, etc. that have raw garlic & I enjoy it that way, too.

My mom can’t stand the smell of garlic cooking, but if she gets a sore throat, she buys herself a jar of chopped garlic and eats a spoonful of it, with some honey. She stinks like garlic for days, but swears her sore throats go away.
