Nunes Statement on FBI, DOJ Objections to Release of HPSCI Memo
Ushouse ^

Posted on 01/31/2018 12:52:48 PM PST by janetjanet998

House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes issued the following statement today:

“Having stonewalled Congress’ demands for information for nearly a year, it’s no surprise to see the FBI and DOJ issue spurious objections to allowing the American people to see information related to surveillance abuses at these agencies. The FBI is intimately familiar with ‘material omissions’ with respect to their presentations to both Congress and the courts, and they are welcome to make public, to the greatest extent possible, all the information they have on these abuses. Regardless, it’s clear that top officials used unverified information in a court document to fuel a counter-intelligence investigation during an American political campaign. Once the truth gets out, we can begin taking steps to ensure our intelligence agencies and courts are never misused like this again.”

All talk about sessions. He didn’t reopen anything. He has no intention of investigating anything. He SAID he was going to open. Nothing since.

The referenced Stephen Miller twitter account with this “commentary” is not Stephen Miller .. it is a parody account.

Trying to ferret out the lack of understanding of the process by which Nunes stepped aside from the committee back in 2017 April. It was because of several ULTRA lib organizations bombarding the House Ethics bipartisan chairs with letters, copies of which are all over the internet. Orchestrated by that a@@hole Schiff (who is literally now up against the ropes, and who was ALWAYS a target of Gowdy’s legal whip, and excellent venom). Internal documents from Ethics may have “undertaken” consideration (within the labyrinthine politics of that “do nothing” committee)- which Gowdy may have had to sign (though he was just a member, not chair which was Doc Skaggs).

Gowdy and Nunes worked closely together, quietly. No animus between them (except that ginned up by creative writers of the chattering classes). Gowdy’s disgust with particularly Schiff was and is evident in his leaving the Ethics committee. There are some rather partisan peeps here on this thread that are blowing smoke out their blowholes about Mr. Gowdy, for the very reason they cannot understand he is a legal mind, who obviously cannot stand the absolute horseshiite of((( greaseball))) politicians like Schiff and the Earth Mother of the SF/CA queer lobby, Di-Fi. Best wished to Trey in his continuing quest to clean out the Swamp from deep in the only system they seem to fear— the Law as applied through the Judiciary. Great things coming for him, am certain. Deo Vindice.

. it does seem strange that after Wray read the memo, he fired McCabe ... --

I've read that the firing came after Wray read the memo, and I've read that it came after he reviewed part of the Inspector General's work. Not sure which.

. . . . . If he had been the director of the FBI I have no doubt that Hillary would be in jail but as a House committee chair he didn’t have that constitutional mandate. I am beginning to believe that Gowdy is scaring the bejesus out of folks and that he is why he is being attacked so aggressively. You Gowdy haters need to step back and take a deep breath. He has and folks like Jason Chavetz and others created the conditions to take down the deep state. Cut the man some slack.”

bears repeating

The question has been raised in the thread whether Gowdy was a member of the Ethics committee. He was, but resigned on 12/13/2018.

it may be Gowdy had to sign it as a formal complaint.

There may be no other way to get the Ethics Complaint onto and off of the table ASAP.

Regardless, I think the two events are unrelated. And if I was to bet, I bet Wray would prefer to keep McCabe, but got rid of him to avoid any sort of bad press and pressure from above.

Funny - the FBI and DOJ spent months fighting release of documents requested by congress in their oversight responsibilities - now they claim the memo is short on facts - maybe they’ll release what’s missing on their own now.....

Guys like Issa, Chaffetz, Gowdy should all take note of Nunes persistence and accomplishments. They all banged a big drum but ultimately all failed to drain the swamp.

EXACTLY. Good reminder. Thanks. BUMP!

The original memo from Nunes is what should be released by the pres. not a doctored up version by Kelly and 5 crooked FBI agents Nunes should compare what is released to the original if not the same he needs to release his copy and call for a SC and call the other one a fake

““Rep. Gowdy’s work with the House Select Committee on Benghazi is what started the downfall of Hillary Clinton and set the stage for the election of President Trump. Gowdy got tagged with the Chair of the committee. It was his investigatory work that turned up and made public the fact that Clinton was using a private server to store her official and classified e-mails instead of the legally mandated State Department server.

Because of this discovery operatives in the FBI, CIA and NSA among others had to CY Hillary’s A. Trump was able to rightfully campaign on the issue of two-tiered justice where submariner’s go to jail and liberal elites get rich. The cover up was almost as bad as the crime. Comey, McCabe, Strzok, Page all have been ensnared with the cover-up and has undermined the Mueller investigation.

Speaking of, because of Hillary’s weakness the Obama cabal had to concoct the Steele dossier which if IG Horowitz is the investigator that I think he is will provide Gowdy and Jeff Sessions, that’s right Sessions, with plenty of ammo to take a big bite out of the swamp. Gowdy’s work on Benghazi was the opening salvo in making all of this happen. He did his investigation the right way. He had dimotards like Elijah Cummings, the MSM, deep state operatives like Comey and Lynch working against him.

Thank You!!!!
