I agree it’s not easy. State has been dirty since Roosevelt. Kennan was once of their last good career men.

What I do is ‘enjoy this ride with Trump’, including the bumps and falls, ....I’ve prayed and waited too long not to. ...and all the while remembering I’m only a spectator for the most part...He and his family live in and among it every day..’without pay”!
