Abraham Lincoln sexist and outdated?
The Department of Veterans Affairs says it has received complaints about its official motto, which is a quote from Lincoln’s second inaugural address in 1865.
The quote, which has been the VA’s motto for 59 years, reads:
“To care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow, and his orphan.”

I was the NCOIC of warehouse operations, Storage and issue Section, 436th Supply Squadron, 1974 - 1976. The majority of warehouse personnel were WAF’s. Yes, WAF’s.

Think about it, in mid-20th Century America an 18 year old pot smoking hippie freshman slut in a Honolulu college has sex with an older Kenyan politician on a student visa who has a wife and child back in Africa, and from this “roll in the hay” comes the collapse and dissolution of America in the 21st Century.
Interesting isn’t it, and it makes you a firm believer in the “butterfly effect.”

It never was intended please the PC crowd on the left 150 years later.
These "groups" need to stop making the decisions for the rest of the country.
Their personal politics and agendas do not make them the arbitrators of what is right for the majority of the nation.

So this is objectionable to the politically correct crowd because :
1. To care for “him”, they consider it bigoted to assume that a soldier is a male or “him”. What about women? And what about all the gender non conforming military? They will feel left out and marginalized and all that.
2. “His widow”. Are we assuming that he is married, to a woman? Oh my gosh, how bigoted that is to these people!
3. “his orphan”. Are we assuming that he has children by the spouse? Same issues, what if it’s a woman soldier, who will be offended by “his” orphan, when it should be “her” orphan in such a case???
4. And isn’t the term “orphan” considered outdated nowadays by these PC police people???

It is a good thing liberals cant read Latin, or they might figure out what the state motto means...
