The dims are going to go batsh!t, claim "saber rattling", all the Antifa/BAMN/Occupy are going to be camped in the middle of the parade route. They get to wave their hatred of the "neo-nazi" military, without having to come out of the closet. Not to mention a terrorist target, and all those rifles will be dry...

And for what reason? To make the modern military feel good? Boy howdy! What could be more fun than a Washington DC, 95 degree, 90% humidity summer day, marching in a crowd in your Class A uniform, screwing up a perfectly good weekend?

If the step off is scheduled for 0900, the general will demand everyone be ready at 0700, in formation, the colonel will insist his regiment be standing tall at 0500, the company CO will have formation on the road at 0300...

The logistics is a nightmare. It's easier to coordinate an amphibious landing.
