And when African Americans demand reparations for slavery in America 160 years ago, the chorus from white Americans should be:

“Well, even if that’s true, that’s the ignorant, racist part of our heritage. We don’t support their actions; instead, we sympathize with our African American friends.”

Well, we do sympathize. We just don’t want to pay for that feeling.

In a similar vein, Native Americans are free to accept or reject LiaWatha. The difference is that she is pushing a fake story, and asking for rewards.
