I really don’t think the paintings are all that bad. The problem I have is that they are OBVIOUSLY also NOT THAT GREAT.

They are pedestrian art. The only thing missing is the black velvet.

This was my submission for Obama's official portrait. Funny that I never heard back from them.

Correct. This is high school art class level stuff. Not bad for a talented kid but also not worthy of national respect as quality art.
Portraiture should NEVER draw attention to the artist. These are, true to form, ideological statements by the anti America cabal. In time they will be rejected by the curator in favor of something respectable.
On the other hand, portraying these clowns as, well, clowns, is not at all inappropriate.
