A South Carolina student was arrested on Thursday after posting a Snapchat threatening a repeat of Wednesday's deadly mass shooting, which took place at a Florida high school.
Spartanburg School District Three spokesperson Sherri Horton told WHNS that officials received an anonymous tip about the threat, which was made via Snapchat, from the parent of another student at Broome High School.
The alarming photo shows an unnamed ninth-grade boy wearing a partial face mask and holding what appears to be an assault rifle with the caption "Round 2 of Florida tomorrow."
The parent of the child who received the concerning snap alerted police and identified the student featured in the photo to responding deputies.
After authorities went to the suspect's house, he told them that the post was "just intended as a joke and that he didn’t have any serious intentions," according to Lt. Kevin Bobo.
Bobo said the boy's parents allowed deputies to search the home, where they found both the mask and the weapon, which turned out to be a pellet gun.
The suspect, whose name will not be released due to his age, was charged with disturbing schools and transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice facility in Greenville, South Carolina.

Considering the commonality of mass shooters being on medication and most being “on the FBI Radar”; is it prudent to ask if the people from Fast and Furious are somehow in the loop?
It would be interesting to see a compilation of all the copy-cat incidents since the Florida School Shooting hit the national airwaves. Just in the Baltimore metro area alone, there were four or five incidents in which students were arrested with pellet or BB guns. I imagine nationally, the incidents like this and communicated shooting threats are probably in the hundreds if not thousands.
I agree, he should be made an example of what will happen when you make threats. I also think he should do community service at a funeral home or such. Idiots need to know dead is forever.

The media coverage is encouraging this and imo is responsible for much of this school shooting. They go on for 24 hours with photos, tears, news conferences and presto the shooter becomes very important. Copycats then want to do even more than the last guy.
The media is out of control in our country, destroying the very fabric of it.
The hanging should be televised PPV.
The PPV proceeds should go directly to the Florida victims families.
There should be one close-up camera focused on his face as he is hung.
Then let's count the copy cats.
How was school disrupted? Was this a viable threat?

he’s a minor, so just until he turns 18.
He will be, of course, another casualty of the shooting, but one that the country may learn from. The message must be sent that we’re not messing around. That is one of the reasons this is happening in the first place. We don’t enforce our laws. Time to start.

What the hell has AGE got to do with it? I'm tired of the LIBERALS setting the stage for getting our children killed. If the kid has a gun and makes a threat, NAME him and THROW HIM IN JAIL. Snowflakes can kill too!

Maybe not hung, but put on a HARD-labor chain-gang for ~1yr; with the MSM obligated to give an hour/mo to the ‘status’ (how many rocks did he break-down into pebbles? How much d* did he service to survive? How’s life as someone’s BITCH?) You know, pertinent questions that’ll wise up some of these stupid kids
IMO, the *parents* should be fined hard for the time/trouble required as well.
