I will be strongly pushing Comprehensive Background Checks with an emphasis on Mental Health. Raise age to 21 and end sale of Bump Stocks! Congress is in a mood to finally do something on this issue - I hope!

Yes - a few. Wasn’t that song “I hate Mondays” based on a quote from a girl shooter way back when (70’s??). (Her answer on why she shoot up the school.)

Relax , they won’t ... the Repubs and the Dims will push nothing major for the same reason ... mid-terms

The NRA will give the nod and help write any proposals that are being discussed relating to background checks and idiotic bump stocks .. and no ,they aren’t selling out

Trump is trying to stop school shootings. He said so at least a dozen times at today's session. He is not posturing when he says that. He believes he can. Is that Quixotic? Are school shootings inevitable? Yes, but not likely in the armed teacher states. Those will be a profound examnple. Trump said arm the teachers for about 20 minutes in the session today. He said it so many times I even thought he was getting repititious.

That's the chess game, just ordinary chess. Not 4-d, that's a red herring. Nor is he tossing the 2A. That's another red herring, although he believes it's ok for him to chip away at it.

With Trump I have learned to just wait and see what actually happens.

Slippery slope Mr President.

All it will take is another Obama in the whitehouse to claim everyone has a mental disorder. For instance being a conservative is considered mental illness by those on the left already.

You are leaping to a solution that will not do one thing.

That boy never should've been out on the streets in the first place with the laws we have on the books now.

Want me to give you a grammar lesson? I won’t charge you a cent.

And, I never said I was an expert on guns.

What I did say is I have absolutely no problem with an age limit of 21 in order to buy a semi automatic weapon.

If you have problem with that, I really don’t give a rat’s ass.

I'm tired of the "brilliant moves" where more of our freedoms are taken away to disarm the left.

All he needs to do is explain why every solution the left has is stupid.

The majority (which is us that elected him) knows all about the left and their incrementalism approach. If we're happy then why fall over himself to help them in anyway? They'll never vote for him but believe me that us out here are getting a little tired of trying to make nice with them knowing full well that if they were in charge they wouldn't care about our "feelings" at all.

I think the NRA will be closely working with the admin on these items ...I would rather Trump be doing this , than Obama or Hitlery ... these actually might be good changes that will help prevent these tragedies ...

>>the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed<<

You wouldn't be proposing trying to "infringe" on a Constitutional Right....would ya n00b?

This is a no-no, Donald. People have triedd to put a scale on mental health, but it has never worked.

It can be determined if one has pneumonia (antibiotics for the pneumococcal form) or measles, or epilespsy seizures requiring anti-seizure medication, or a broken arm, or cancer type and stage. But the state and quality of one's mind and emotions iss not so easily measured or predictable. Unless one has been comitted to a mental hospital, or has a criminal record of unlawful behavior (indicating some degree of departing from a tolerable range of actions), leave the background checks alone.

However, since most of the shootings have been a result of alcohol or psychoactive drug intake, make the personal sales to, ownership of, or or personal carrying of dangerous weapons a felony if one's BCA is greater than 0.1% or if ones mentality is dependent on psychoactive medication. That's measurable, quantitatively.

May be worth a thought, I dunno if it would fly. But "psychiatric" evaluation score? No. Don't go there.

I’d like to see him urge people to go back to their houses of worship or find one if they don’t have one.

But get a CCDW license and be armed when you go to Mass. The Pilgrims did. So did Jesus' apostles at the Last Supper.

The same people who decide that felons cannot own guns.

Mental health professionals should be required to report anyone who admits to having suicidal tendencies.

You can't ban guns, but I'll bet most parents wouldn't mind seeing a ban on murder-based shoot-em-up video games. Maybe Hollywood movies need a higher standard for violent content....like PG-18.

Hardly a word about looking at the psychotic drugs that virtually all of these shooters are on and that are connected to 20 some vets daily taking their own life.

Wonder why such silence on this?

Not so sure about that. I'd say "suicidal" gives you a definite F.

Each year there are more than 40,000 suicides. Half of them are firearm suicides.
