I reinstated my membership yesterday. Got a nice Duffel bag with NRA blazoned on it and a free magazine subscription.
I'm thinking about selecting the same "gifts" with my new 5-year membership, but I want to first call the NRA to see if I can delay the magazine subscription 6 months to give me time to relocate back to Mississippi. (SICK of my native CA! - going broke here)!

DON’T get a Simply Safe system. It sucks-have had nothing but trouble with it and we are now going to remove it, because of their corporate decision re NRA. They advertise heavily on conservative talk radio, as in Rush’s show. Sent him an e-mail last night as well.

Sounds perfect. Sorry to break it to you, but Nest is owned by Google.
If you want to avoid politics, I'd suggest cobbling together your own system from components (as the SimpliSafe founders did). Of course, a lot of those components come from ...

Look at Fortress Security on Amazon. I have one and it works fine. I think it’s basically the same thing.
