After 19 days of competition at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea, Norway came out on top of the final medal count.
Norways dominance was apparent from the beginning of the Olympic Games, with 14 gold medal wins in sports like cross-country skiing and more medals from other skiing events from jumping to downhill. Germany came in second with 31 total medals and 14 gold medals, and Canada finished in third with 29 medals, 11 of which were gold. After a number of historic wins for the United States late in the Games, Team USA finished fourth with 23 total medals, including nine golds.

Little Netherlands did fantastic.
Goed zo!
Go figure. Athletes whose ancestry is from cold-weather climates excel at sports that involve cold-weather climates. Athletes who are focused on being their best in the competition and showing pride in the nation they’re representing (instead of showcasing political and social agendas) are more likely to win.
I’m just thrilled about the US gold in curling.
Lots of strategy and skill in that game.
I seen her being interviewed. I think I’m in love.
Last night, I got hooked on the mens 50K cross country race. It was a fantastic race, with those in the top six (or so) positions being tested to their limits for endurance, athleticism and strategy. It wasn't just about who came in first; it was about who had what it took to eke out 2nd and 3rd. Would you believe NBC left the race after the first skier completed the race, and didn't even show or announce who came in second and third?
Sometimes one can't help but wonder if NBC execs stay up nights figuring out ways to mess of Olympics coverage. They should've ignored the rantings of those athletes who were spouting their political and social agenda. They should've gotten rid of commentators who wouldn't shut up but didn't have anything insightful to say.
JMHO
The Norks’ death of medals reminds me of when Iraq’s soccer team returned in defeat, Saddam Hussein had them tortured.
Dearth of medals.
I remember that.
Thanks for your comment.
NBC has been pathetic, indeed.
>> We need more Norwegians <<
Sure. I agree.
But in fact, there already are more people of Norwegian descent in the USA than there are back in Norway.
>>> Det er Norge som er best <<<
Ja, ingen uenighet der.
But please explain to me why Norway, homeland of the world’s most famous figure skater, Sonja Henie, seems to have had nobody in this year’s Olympic FS competition?
Yay Jessie Diggins
Yay John Shuster and the Curling team
Yay Gal’s Hockey team.
Yay Minnesota!
Now, if we could just overthrow the Democrats in our state we would be really happy.
Yep, and all the Nork Olympic participants will be murdered and their families sent to the prison camps.
Since I didn't watch even one minute of the Olympics; did any of the homosexuals win a medal, and did any of the other affirmative action (doesn't have to be just blacks) types win a medal?
Norway annihilated the rest of the world. Coming from a country only 5.3 million, that’s a spectacular accomplishment.
The mixed couple curling was the best! Watching and listening to the married couples argue and scream at each other was very entertaining.
Who knows? There are a couple of winter sports in which Norway is a non-factor: Figure skating and bobsled come to mind. Do they compete at luge and skeleton? Didn’t seem to do much in short track for that matter.
That said, they did extremely well.
All the North Koreans athletes were executed upon arriving back in North Korea.
