I tend to think Trump's comments are taken out of context and the media will relentlessly keep it so in an effort to erode his base.

That said, if Trump indeed meant what what they say he does, “take guns first, then the process”, it will sink his 2020 bid if another more conservative fella steps up to run against him.

Open an avenue for government to begin stripping folks of their weapons pending review by government of your ability to own a weapon...THEY WILL GO FURTHER.
