I bought the Sandisk Sport in early February:

and couldn’t be happier. WRVA-AM, here (Richmond, VA) just took over 96.1 FM, so I can get Rush Limbaugh on FM. The downside of that takeover was that I lost John Boy & Billy’s The Big Show. C’est la vie.
It’s a very satisfactory little device, and a bucket load lighter than my cell phone. It will do your music, books, etc, and FM radio to boot. It will also drive a pair of mini speakers, which I also bought at Amazon, along with the necessary cabling:

I thought the whole rig was reasonably priced.
Hope this helps...

I have a Sandisk also, and listen to many audio books that I download for free from LibriVox. It’s mostly public domain, but a lot of good stuff is available:
I have Tune-In on the phone and the Fire for lots of different talk radio; but of course, that needs wifi.
(I’ve bought a few audio books from Audible; but it irks me that you need Wifi to listen to those, since I’m only connected at home.)
