Did you read the article? Right now, someone can have sex with a child of any age, and the prosecutors have to "prove" that they didn't consent. Now, if they are under 15, they don't have to prove that.

I know they try to say that these kids can’t have sex with older people. They why call it an age of consent?

I am not sure what you are trying to say. In the United States there are age of consent laws, but it varies by state, I think from 16 to 18. Do you think there should be no age of consent?

I appreciate your response Nick, but lets be clear here.

France had no age of consent laws? That’s what they seem to be trying to tell us. Why wasn’t the 11 year old covered?

In 2017, a nation had no age of consent laws on the books? Seriously? With all the sex problems with kids, they didn’t have an age of consent law?

Yes, I read what you did. It’s utter nonsense. No kids were reporting rapes, and they weren’t seeing young kids having sex with older people? That just defies logic!

How about eight year olds then, could adults have had sex with them as long as they consented, and the ability to prosecute for a high crime would have been unavailable?

This whole topic wreaks!

It was lowered to 15 a long time ago in Colorado. On France, it appears that some readers here are confused about the society there. By and large, it’s been more old fashioned and socially conservative than here. Remember the enormous protests in France against a proposed libertine law or policy regarding homosexuality a few years back? Most people there frown on homosexuality and other libertine social preferences.
