Need to hire some out of work actors in police-looking uniforms to sit outside with a video camera all day just to jack with the owner and drive off business.

Wait — it’s illegal for a cake baker NOT to bake a cake for gays, but it is legal for a shop to refuse to serve cake to
law enforcement?

Either business owners CAN select whom they will serve, or not; or else it is NOT legal for businesses to select whom they will serve (ie, they have to serve “the public”).

I was thinking of picketing the shop in order to show support for the police. I have to admit I was pretty stunned as most shops provide free coffee to police in appreciation for work.

I am not even sure this is legal under the state’s broad Unruh Act which prohibits discrimination based on political beliefs (among other items).

In any case it makes me angry.
