You bring up a damn good point about HIPAA

Leftists have turned everything into a pretzel, logically speaking. Here in Iowa a few years back a much beloved High School football coach was shot and killed by a well known nutcase. He had been arrested a few times as I recall for bizarre behavior but because of “privacy” laws and similar ... And ... the fact that he hadn’t “done anything yet.”

Mainstreaming or inclusion laws with respect to handicapped or differentially abled students - to include mental illness - are interpreted differently depending on who ya ask - but generally they cite “least restrictive environment.”

Now who is nuts and who ain’t might be arguable to some degree - but unfortunately what it means in practice, is complete nutjobs are allowed in society, to vote, have children, run for public office (hm...) until they break something. En masse. I’m sure it’s in the Communist Manifesto somewhere.

“Oh yeah, he’s nuts...” “I don’t think he took his medication” “She has issues...” etc etc. Seriously though HIPAA is part of the issue. It means nobody can find out anything, it’s used as a shield to prevent the public from finding out. Age is also cited, crimes by juveniles. Frankly I want to know who these kids are, and you should too. Now we come to find out Obie administration started a federal program where the government pays the cops NOT to arrest criminals. Sort of like paying farmers NOT to grow corn or beans, I guess. That Sheriff down there in Florida says “It’s a good program.”

Yeah I’ll bet.

The students know who the crazy children are. The teachers do, too. They are not medical professionals. Teachers should not be responsible for teaching crazy, disruptive children.

Most sane individuals can go into a classroom and pick out the crazy children within ten minutes. Then you might have to categorize them as crazy crazy, off meds crazy, would probably be normal if not on meds, etc. It is wrong to subject normal children to the volatile moods of children who are not right in the head. That might upset some teachers who believe they can reach that one child who just needs the right loving. But get those crazy children the help they need which is not to be mainstreamed. And don’t expect shy Suzie Q to perform to her potential when she is afraid of John Q Crazy suddenly throwing tables and chairs across the room.
