Just when you thought your TV might have become a Hogg-free zone . . .
Tuning in CNN this morning, there was David Hogg. Again. And the Parkland survivor-turned-gun-control-activist made one thing clear: he has no use for the Second Amendment. Hogg accused the NRA of liking to hide behind the Second Amendment and say this is our constitutional right. Were Americans. Well, yeah: you nailed, it, David!
A bit later, David really gave away his game. Hogg praised countries like Sweden, where gun ownership is treated as a privilege, rather than a right.
At least for now, Im able to hide behind the First Amendment in critiquing Hogg. Could treating free speech as a privilege rather than a right be next on the liberals list?
Note: give host Alisyn Camerota some credit. Although her voice was filled with skepticism about what they, the NRA, would say, she did raise the counter-argument to banning AR-15s that it would put the good guys at a disadvantage in defending themselves.
Hogg comes clean. He has no use for Second Amendment, wants gun ownership treated “as a privilege, not as a right.”
Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.
I know reading the Federalists Papers is not required reading for high school students but even the cliff notes could fill him in.
This is why children should have no voice in the arena.
Would appreciate someone pinging to Bang list.
This is kind of funny because his mother’s response to allegations of death threats against son David was to publicly assure that his father as an ex-fbi guy always Carries a Gun..!
so you have gun control efforts paired with gun threats.
Why would anyone care what this child thinks? Or for that matter what any child thinks? By definition children are childish.
I have never listened to anything this kid has said. Ever.
No intent to give him space in my thoughts.
They are children. There is a reason for the saying: children should be seen and not heard.
free public education IS a privilege, not a right.
Let’s talk about 1st amendment. I say children should be seen and not heard. Priveledge to be heard should not start until 21 years old.
Why would anyone care what this child thinks? Or for that matter what any child thinks? By definition children are childish.
Jonah Goldberg wrote a good column making that point.
Is he over 18? If so, he can vote his opinion just like I can. :)
Would Kamera Hogg praise the Third Reich where gun ownership was treated as a privilege, rather than a right? How about the USSR? How about Mao's China? Turkey? Guatemala? Uganda? Cambodia?
And when will Kamera Hogg's show on CNN debut?
If you can’t buy a gun until 21, he shouldn’t be allowed an opinion on guns until 21.
Please tell that unfortunate child to go back to school and learn something.
Driving a car is a privilege.Owning and using a gun is a Right.
If he and his liberal friends dont like it they can try and amend the Constitustion.
Wrong, kid.
Like it or not, it’s a RIGHT and your opinion doesn’t matter very much.
