February job gains came in at a whopping 313,000 new jobs, so much that NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt acknowledged it blows away economists expectations. The Wall Street Journal said expectations were at only 205,000. Unemployment also remained at the 17-year-low of 4.1 percent. But only one network gave the good news any serious attention.

World News Tonight remains dead last of the three network evening shows covering employment. It had the least amount of Friday jobs coverage between Feb. 3, 2017, (the January 2017 jobs report) and the March 9, 2018 BLS release of February 2018 jobs.
World News Tonight spent just 4 minutes and 53 seconds combined on jobs those nights. Nightly News spent almost twice that with 9 minutes and 44 seconds, while Evening News devoted the most time to the subject those nights with 11 minutes 10 seconds of reporting.
Methodology: MRC Business has been tracking the amount of time spent on jobs or employment news on the Friday of each month that the Commerce Departments Bureau of Labor Statistics announces the latest data. This time tally only reflects the ABC, CBS and NBC evening news broadcasts on those specific nights.

The economy going gangbusters isn’t as exciting as Russian collusion or Stormy Daniels. Oh well.

And the main story tonight is a white dog bit a black postman delivering the mail. Obviously a racist dog. But the jobs report gets buried later on.

i completely reject the networks. They no l.longer are relevant. They are just extension of the communist party in this great country. All real news is here. the aggregators now allow diversity of thought.

Ya, the Stormy Daniels story is the most important story out there.
sarcasm
In fact, some speculated that Trump came out with the idea of meeting with Kim Jong Un, precisely to get the media away from the Stormy Daniels story, that’s how much the networks want to cover Stormy Daniels and ignore everything else.

Lester will be needing a job soon but the market for flattop cone headed news anchors is kind of limited.

I do not recall the last time I watched news on ABC, CBS, or NBC. I do not even know the channel numbers for them. On my long to-do list is cancel cable service because our family is really not watching. Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon are 99% of our entertainment watching. For news, it is the Internets.

Well is conservative media any better? This site, Breitbart, Drudge? How many titles about Stormy Daniels and Russian collusion do we have versus the great economy?
To: Kaslin
If many right-of-center voters don't wake up, the policies leading to this rapidly improving economy are going to be reversed in November.
Many on our side poo poo the idea of a Democrat takeover in the House. No one should overlook this possibility. IF it happens, impeachment news will dominate headlines from now until they get rid of Trump.
I can just see now all the limp-wristed GOPers rushing to the microphone to announce they're considering impeaching/voting to convict the President. It's the one sure fire way a Republican can get fawning media coverage, which they so utterly crave.

I don’t watch the MSM to find out what’s going on - I watch to see what they are reporting. They are becoming extinct.

A huge expansion of jobs is not news. News would be “Russia” or “Stormy” or “gun violence” - something that supports the approved narrative.
