The republicans do not want the majority because they cannot justify what they are doing, tax cuts aside.
They’ve lost nearly 40 seats at this point (statewide). This guy ran an unenthusiastic campaign. Media will tout this as a sign of momentum for the Democrats that they flipped a pro-Trump district that has consistently gone Republican. That’s a fair analysis too. The Dems are very motivated, and I’ve raised alarm at some of the seats they flipped. Part of it is Republicans haven’t turned out, but the reason is why. Are they mad at Trump/GOP or just not motivated (mixture of both)? However, one thing I would point out is, only way they could win is to run a moderate Democrat who isn’t going after Trump. If they ran a Schiff type, they’d lose.
I understand your point, but honestly, should this matter? What are we, a bunch of twelve year olds with ADHD? The voters of that district vote almost 20 percentage points for Trump over Clinton and most of them either sit at home or turn around and vote for Lamb? It makes no sense. I don't care what a feeble candidate Saccone was. Trump needs Republicans in Congress or he can't pursue his agenda, and voters know darn well Lamb is going to vote with Pelosi virtually all the time. This is stupid beyond belief.

Next time find a young conservative black veteran to run on the ticket. Too many republicans don’t identify with the party, thus making it look like it is smaller than it is. The party needs more Pizazz! A younger face. The Dems will bully you to no end, if you continue with the dull candidates.
