STUNNING: Jeff Sessions Cited the WRONG LAW when He Recused Himself from Russian Witch Hunt – Took Advice From Obama Lawyers ( full title )

...

Sessions made the announcement the day after he was sworn in as Attorney General after advice from Obama lawyers in the Department of Justice.

...

legal expert Gregg Jarrett told Sean Hannity that Sessions used the WRONG LAW when announcing his recusal. He took advice from OBAMA OFFICIALS and they misled him.

Gregg Jarrett: He betrayed the president. He knew when he was sworn in that he was going to recuse himself and the very next day he put the recusal in motion. He never told the president about that. And by the way he cited the regulation in his recusal… He cited the wrong law. It didn’t apply.

Sara Carter: I think he was being advised badly at the time.

Gregg Jarrett: Yeah, by Obama’s holdovers. Who in the world would believe them?

“Mueller’s witch hunt has been going on for fourteen months withot finding a shred of evidence which implicates the President in ANY crime, yet Sessions remains recused, refusing to rescind that encumbrance and DO HIS JOB.”

Sessions REMAINS RECUSED. Exactly...It’s hard for any Magoo lover to explain that away.

Good post and I agree.

Session's AG post was a "pay off", by Trump and a VERY stupid and extremely harmful one!

Mr. Magoo may be on a "short chain", but it would have been far better to just have fired him/never picked him and the whole top echelon ob the DOJ, CIA, FBI, and NSA should have been fired on day ONE! Sadly, Trump was clueless and got some very bad advice; not to mention the fact that he should have had people start to do outreach and fact findings, re people/pols, even before he threw his hat into the ring.

...in his confirmation hearings, he told Grassley that he would recuse from investigating Hillary and the Clinton Foundation, because his public statements suggest he is biased against them.

Fair enough, but why didn't Sessions immediately resign, upon realizing that he couldn't ethically go after the Clinton Crime Syndicate?

Why did he park himself in the position of AG while in such a neutered state, thus preventing the President from quickly choosing an alternate pick who COULD be effective?

-- .Lindsey, McInsane and the rest of the GOP STATED they won't approve a new AG. --

Assuming for the sake of argument that is true, it's a toothless threat. somebody is going to occupy that position, whether the are called "acting" or "interim" makes no functional difference. The Senate is sitting on its hands confirming US Attorneys, but only on a technicality are those positions unfilled - Sessions has appointed people to fill all of those slots on interim basis.

Oh good grief!

He has gotten absolutely NO, zip, zero, nada, bupkiss "help" from the damned RINOS...which he SHOULD have known from the get go!

You aren't "seeing" anything; you're "feeling' and making excuses.

And before you start calling names and/or impugning me, I was and still am, a VERY big and extremely EARLY Trump supporter. I just refuse to keep quite about his obvious failings and stupidity about some things.

Clearly there is a lot more to this than what we've been led to believe.

It would be very interesting if Sessions faked the recusal so that he could get things done behind the scenes.

McQueeg is now not a "concern"; he's NOT coming back to vote on anything!

From day 1, it was the damned Dems who were threatening to go "postal" on Trump, screaming about how that would be "NIXONIAN" and a reason to impeach him. And THAT is laughable, since they are not only in the minority, but because it isn't a high crime, nor even a misdemeanor.

"So until I hear him tell Sessions “you’re fired” am taking this as “fake news”"

Bingo- we have a winner!

I purposely use the word “ reFusal”, when speaking of Sessions. It certainly applies to his tenure so far. I mean, the Holder Swamp is still drawing their pay and no one is on trial. And, these are just the small fish.

Starting to wonder if this is going to be four years of October Surprise, for election purposes.

I don’t see any benefit in expressing my point of view on those questions, here. I see the questions as posed in bad faith, and nothing you say will convince me otherwise.

Trump kept him because he wanted him to be Deputy AG.

That's before Trump became very critical of Rosenstein.

Elliott Ness always consulted with Al Capone’s lawyers before asking any stressful questions which may have been ungentlemanly.

But then, you and the other Sessions' appeasers refuse to see reality.
