If the Republicans lose the House Donald Trump will be impeached. So we must do everything in our legal power not to let that happen!!!!

Ronna ROMNEY McDaniels has proven to be just as useless of an RNC chair are Reince Pubus.

What is that even supposed to mean? Reince Priebus was an extraordinarily successful chairman of the RNC and pulled it out of the mess Steele had left it in.

That’s not her call...the RNC has no involvement in that.

Yes, more fake news from “The ‘conservative’ treehouse”. Article is knowingly false. The flyer was previously reported as being sent out weeks before the election to liberal areas to try to turn Lamb’s own base against him. The same PAC spent millions of dollars in ads on TV attacking Lamb. The article is obviously a lie, but we can’t let that get in the way of a good juicy fake news story to stir people up.

Complacency that this district was so red you can just nominate any mediocre candidate and they would win because the Democrats aren’t supposed to be able to win this district. Well they didn’t believe that and nominated a very well spoken, fit good looking young marine vs. some boring mediocre GOP candidate...and we see the result. Little money would had to have been spent on this race with a better candidate...now millions were spent to what is apparently a losing effort in a ruby red district. Open seats are fair game and good candidates are needed no matter who is “supposed” to win. We’ve beaten Democrats before in blue areas by outsmarting them like this before as well (Scott Brown Massachusetts Senate race in 2010, and the replacement for Anthony Weiner after he was forced to resign in that NYC based district - one of the bluest of the blue - and GOP candidate won that special election). There were surely better candidates available in that district than Rick Saccone...but regardless, they failed to garner national interest in the race - contrast to that to the Georgia 6 race last year - Karen Handle had the full backing of everyone, the talk radio circuit nationwide had it as a focal point of discussion for weeks prior to the election, whereas this race was occasionally mentioned - at best.

Sorry, but that’s not true.

This wasn’t lost because lamb was young and saccone was old...

This district was lost because the D’s were motivated and the idiots in charge of his campaign and ALL the National Committees and Pacs ran an idiotic campaign aimed square at reliable R voters, and never outside the base.

The only message they offered was red meat for the base, that was it.. NOTHING else... Never reached out to the MAGA I and D voters who gave Trump the district by 20 points, not once.

This race was pathetic, and inexcusable... The messaging was all wrong, at every level to win with a motivated D electorate.

It was pathetic to watch, and inexcusable.

I know Hillary wasn’t on the ballot, we’re agreeing with each other here!
My point is that, as you said well, they offered the non traditional Trump voter no real reason to show up, as far as I can tell. Attacking the ‘D’ doesn’t necessarily motivate the independent voter, the non ideologue. I think your post nails it, good analysis, especially as a rather brave antidote to the conspiracy thinking and looking for conspiracies in dark corners rather than in plain sight.

The better question is “Did the GOP MAKE this happen?”

Good points.

I know many a person who claim, and intend, that they will vote for the best PERSON regardless of party. Yeah, there are many on FR who will vote for ANY republican before voting for ANY democrat, sure, but they are not the norm, and I think a weak, crappy R *should* lose if the Democrats run a strong candidate; *NO ONE* is ‘entitled’ to a victory merely on their professed party or ideology, I hate laziness, complacency and an attitude of entitlement more than I hate a ‘D’ after a person’s name; anyone who thinks they should win just because of party (or thinks that someone should win just because of party) is as much of a threat to the Republic as any mere Democrat, IMHO.

The establishment GOP RINOs have control of the House and the Senate and they fight against Trump’s agenda, ignore supporting the campaigns of conservatives that don’t play ball with the Establishment. Look at the way both Ryan and McConnell play it.

They would rather allow a Democrat to win a seat than see a conservative come in and stir the pot like a Cruz or a Paul.

The thing is, with a claim like that, proof is needed, or it just sounds like paranoid whining to anyone who isn’t already inclined to believe it.

I mean right or left, if someone can’t produce evidence, hard evidence that would stand in a court of law and by examination by a skeptical party, I am not buying conspiracy or fraud or any answer other than the simplest and most obvious. I’m not saying conspiracies or fraud don’t exist, I am saying that I am not the only person who needs solid, tangible, irrefutable proof before I accept any explanation other than the obvious one

YMMV, and I don’t mean to imply that YOU are guilty of paranoid whining, but that claims of fraud and conspiracies sure seem like to most people without genuine, not circumstantial or inferential evidence. some people see Soros everywhere and in everything, I see 99%+ of lost elections being due to one side doing a better job of getting people to the polls with candidate, message and ground game, and need evidence at least good enough to convict a person on a courtroom to seriously consider otherwise. Obviously, I’m addressing several posts on this thread.

Am I the only one who heard former Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, interviewed on Fox News on election night before all precincts had reported in, “predict” that the Democratic candidate Conor Lamb would win by about 700 votes?

Now, how do you suppose he could know that?

I am not saying there was fraud. But you cannot say there was no fraud, either. Electronic voting is tailor-made for fraud.

Again, FRAUD didn’t lose this election... folks are grasping at straws rather than simple facing an obvious reality...

The GOP blew this election from the top down.

You seem very certain. Do you have any data to support your claim? Again, I am not claiming there was fraud.

I live in this district, I have watched it from day one. This is a race that should have never been closer than 8 points, even with a less than stellar candidate....

Yet the messaging in this race was WRONG from day one.. and horribly so.

To give you an idea of how bad the messaging of this race was, Saccone was running around for the last week or two of the campaign repeatedly publicly saying “I was Trump before Trump”.

This campaign’s message was wrong from the get go. The D’s here are motivated, like they are everywhere, they are going crawl over glass to vote... The R’s simply ran on a campaign message that Lamb was a pelosi lapdog... that’s it... just red meat for the R base, and NOTHING to try to motivate the non traditional Trump/MAGA voter.. which is who they should have been targeting from the get go.

This race was LOST by GROSS INCOMPETENCE throughout the entire GOP ecosystem.

They ran a campaign message that literally could have been for any generic R for the past 15+ years, ignoring completely why TRUMP won this region in 2016!! Both why and HOW he won it.

The GOP LOST THIS RACE, PERIOD... the line people fought harder than I have ever seen in this district, and it was due to their hard efforts that they almost pulled it out in spite of the leaderships incompetence... but this race was LOST due to gross incompetence up and down the GOP food chain.

Fraud didn’t lose this election, this race should have never been closer than 8 points.... Fact is, it was going to be closer than it ever should have and it had NOTHING to do with fraud.

Good report on what happened, and I agree with you.

Did you see the story that an organization affiliated with Paul Ryan released some flyers praising Lamb’s position on the 2A? Might have been Breitbart. Your thoughts? To me, that’s the kind of issue which could save the D in a pro-gun blue-collar district

We all saw the Democrats make an issue out of the voting machines in 2004, after they made an issue out of the butterfly ballots in 2000. Does anyone think they won’t commit the very crimes they accuse others of, with the brazenness of a third-world street walker or a black hand thug?
