GOP Says Voting Machines 'Miscalibrated' in District Lamb Won, Saccone Votes Switched to Lamb

Serious shenanigans may have gone down in Pennsylvania's special election on Tuesday.

From the Washington Free Beacon:

Lamb currently leads Republican Rick Saccone by just 627 votes and there are still absentee and provisional ballots that have not been tabulated, but Republicans are already preparing for the likely recount and even a possible lawsuit regarding issues at polling sites, according to a Republican source familiar with the deliberations.

"We're actively investigating three instances and likely to file court action on them," the source said.

Among the listed concerns are "miscalibrated" voting machines in Allegheny County, the only county of four in the district that went for Lamb, according to the source, who said there have been many reports of voters who intended to vote for Saccone ending up casting a ballot for Lamb.

Furthermore, Republicans say their attorneys were ejected from polling sites as the absentee ballots were still being counted and that due to confusion caused by the Pennsylvania secretary of state website people were directed to the wrong polling locations.

Republicans have demanded that all ballots and voting machines be impounded in preparation for the likely recount.

Republican sources are circulating prior investigations into Allegheny County election officials by Pittsburgh's local ABC affiliate, which found the county was hiring people with criminal records and little election experience to manage polling sites on election day.

Then SUE and nullify the fraudulent “election”. Until this happens NOTHINGS GOING TO CHANGE. The Justice Department needs to get involved.

The only question is why does the Republican party continue to allow this to happen?

Really. This is a story that I just keep seeing around the country. I believe this was happening in Chicago when Obama was running for re-election.

I volunteered as tech support for voting places for many years. Yes, the touch screens on machines can get out of calibration. If the ‘buttons’ for candidates are very close together, touching a button for Bob can actually record your vote as a vote for Joe if the buttons for Bob and Joe are right together. Especially if the touch for Bob was off center. But this doesn’t happen very often. In fact it’s rare.

Can the buttons be misaligned on purpose? Yes they can. But it would take a person familiar with the machine to do it. One of the last checks we made to the machines before releasing them to the voting places was to test the button alignment.

I am very much in favor of printed receipts for the voters with the option of going back and changing a vote if the printout does not agree with the way the voter thought they voted.

Many voters are not paying close enough attention as they vote. It is an unfamiliar task for most.

Some voting machines display a tally after the voter is finished and the machine asks for confirmation. I have seen many voters leave the voting booth after they finish voting but before this tally is displayed. In that case, the voting place worker would touch the ‘Agree’ button so the machine could be reset for the next voter.

even if you weren’t paying attention the review screen will show you what vote it took before you actually confirm your vote.

It doesn't matter what the screen say, it matters what the count says and it can say what ever they want it to.

To have a vote switched around and not counted is incredibly wicked. A act of high treason.

Almost as bad as having an illegal cancel your vote.

Pesonally, I don't see how ANY voting without paper ballots can be trusted.

That won't fix it either. Some method of positive identification and recording of vote must happen or we will continue to have fake election results. We require more identification to buy a gun than we do for a voter. Personally I think secret ballot is over rated if you want honest results.

Trump should dispatch the Marine Corps to police every special election, under his national emergency EO.

Precedent has been set. Hussein had armed NBP guards!

without paper backup, there is no way to validate the vote totals.

There is no way to validate vote with paper backup either. A vote must be physically attached to a voter in such a way that the voter qualification is verified at the time the vote is cast. We must rethink this whole secret ballot thing or continue to suffer voter fraud.

It is easy to cheat with them- Thats why.

TV News coverage had more to do with it than you might want to believe.

On my opinion, the Soros voting machines are the biggest reason for the “blue wave.”

There is no foolproof system.

How about this: if we actually had our limited government, far fewer slimeballs would be inclined to game the system

Sigh.. the R’s didn’t lose this one because of Fraud.. they lost it because they ran a completely incorrectly messaged campaign.

This wasn’t a RINO problem....

This was PURELY, 100%, the wrong message, period.

you could have run the most conservative you could find here, and with this message he was going to lose!

That is why this loss is so egregious!! It wasn’t the candidate, it wasn’t fraud, it was the fact the entire R ecosystem decide the way to win was to rally up the reliable R voters, and ignore everyone else... instead of reaching out the Trump MAGA non traditional R voters who gave Trump the rust belt!

This campaign’s message was the type of campaign you run in a deep red state when you need to fire up your base... it offered NOTHING to to the not traditional R voters who came out huge for Trump and THAT is who they needed to reach and motivate, and they didn’t even try!!

Again, this wasn’t a failure of the GOTV effort... I can tell you I have NEVER seen the on GOP work this hard for this district EVER... The problem was they were targeting the wrong people!! The line workers killed themselves, and honestly NEARLY PULLED THIS OUT IN SPITE OF THE GROSS INCOMPETENCE OF THE PEOPLE RUNNING THE SHIP!!

Everyone I know (and I live in this district) was being contacted ad nauseam. 3 -7 times a day...

The problem was the people they should have been reaching out to with their messaging was never ever targeted.

You cant just angre up the reliable R base and win this sort of district here when the D’s are fired up... which they were.... YOU need those non traditional R voters, the I’s and D’s that went Trump to be engaged motivated and show up... and you aren’t going to do that by offering the same old tired Red Meat message for the party base... Literally this campaign messaging could have been for any generic R candidate for the last 15+ years... Not once was anything targeted at those non traditional MAGA/TRUMP voters to engage and motivate them to show up.. to show them exactly that the candidate GOT them and why they need him to help keep that agenda going...

It was PATHETIC and INEXCUSABLE.

Point taken. If we elected God fearing people that would help too, but Satin's crew outnumbers us and works harder.

Sigh, yes, some folks voted against HIllary.. but that again is NOT why this race was lost.

This race was lost because the GOP Leadership, is either too stupid, lazy or incompetent to realize exactly why TRUMP WON, particularly in this part of the country.

They literally ran a tired generic campaign message that was all about attacking the D... something that never got these disenfranchised voters to show up and vote R in the past 15+ years.. It was red meat for the R base... but the reality is, there isn’t enough of the R BASE to win against a motivated D base.. you NEED the non traditional Trump voter, and they OFFERED THEM NO REASON TO SHOW UP! They never offered a message to them, let alone a reason for them to come out and vote.

They literally threw away an easy win.... This race should have never gotten closer than 8 points... even with a mediocre candidate.... but they ran the type of campaign you would run in a deep red district, when you need th ebase fired up,... and if FAILED Miserably....

Even if by some miracle a recount or other thing gets the R the win, this was still a complete embarrassment at every level.. this was an inexcusable outcome.... Because of gross incompetence... nothing less.

Sorry folks, you are chasing red herrings... this race was lost because of incompetence.. not fraud.

This race should have never been any closer than 8 points, even with a mediocre candidate.. yet the entire GOP ecosphere BLEW IT!... They completely mis messaged this campaign, and NEVER EVER offered the non traditional Trump/MAGA voter a reason to care, let alone show up.

There is no conspiracy here, just GROSS AN INEXCUSABLE INCOMPETENCE by the entire GOP!
