(Methinks that is a great possibility, since Mueller has nothing left, but being fired, in order for the fall out to damage Trump.)
I would think that a Mueller heart attack or stroke that killed or totally disabled him would throw a kink in the proceedings.
I think it likely that no successor would be appointed.
