Rep. Louise Slaughter (D-N.Y.), the top Democrat on the House Rules Committee, has died at age 88, her office announced Thursday.

“To have met Louise Slaughter is to have known a force of nature. Term. Limits. Now.

Hopefully she’s paving the way for Ruth ‘Shovel Ready’ Ginsberg. ;)

So have the Clintons changed Chelsea's residency to this district yet and started pushing for her to be named to the seat?

I remember the Slaughter House rules, which paved the way for Obamacare. As chairman, she tweaked the rules of debate in the Rules Committee, to grease the skids to get Obamacare passed.

That means a Special Election or an open seat in November.

The RNC can put money into this election and prove that the Republicans can win traditionally Democratic seats.

She’s been my congress critter for over 20 years. I despised her for her Leftest policies ... but I’ll still say a prayer for her. RIP.

I think Ginsburg is just too stubborn to expire.

Evil old crones like her and pickles seem to keep going and going. I guess hate and rage do the job.

McCain is too ill to be in the Senate chamber but is still seated. How does that work? How are you unable to show up for work, day after day, but still keep your job?
