It came at the very end of a long segment on the firing of Andrew McCabe. Maybe it should have come at the beginning . . .
On CNN this morning, after a protracted discussion of the firing of Andrew McCabe, and just before going to break, Chris Cuomo let slip what might be the seminal fact in this matter. As Cuomo put it:
“The best thing going for the President on this one is that the IG was an Obama appointee, and this was his report.”

The same guy who whitewashed Fast and Furious will whitewash this mess.

Just because Obama appointed Ashton and Horowitz doesn’t necessarily mean he actually knew the first thing about them. These appointments are based on recommendations and most of the recommendations are based on who has experience in a given field.
In 2010, there was not even the most remote thought that their DOJ positions would have profound national repercussions. There was no remote thought that Donald Trump would decide to run for POTUS, much less win. In 2010, Obama was hoping HE would be reelected two years hence.

It was McCabe's peers. The only involvement by Trump is that he was pleased that this slug got his due and was fired. These leaks have got to stop, they are criminal. AND, he let Hillary off the hook among so many other abuses of power. It was a great day in America when Sessions fired this guy.

A lot of people around here and in other conservative circles back in the day thought that Horowitz whitewashed the Fast & Furious investigation.
Add to that Horowitz seems to have become part of the DOJ's stonewalling of Congress problem.
Add to all of that the Obama appointee did have Obama sign off into law his IG empowerment bill, so apparently Obama wasn't all that upset with The Horror Show.
