When my youngest was in 3rd grade, they were learning about the Bill of Rights.

When I asked about the 2nd, he said the teacher said it was one of the rights most people think needs to be changed.

Parent, teach and principal conference scheduled. We sat down, and I asked the 20-something teacher to explain the 2nd amendment to me.

She immediately went defensive, and said she thought it important that kids understood the “evils of gun violence.”

The principal took it from there. The teacher was instructed to keep her opinions out of the lessons, and was required to reteach the 2nd amendment, while the principal observed.

This was about 10 years ago in a PA burb 45 minutes west of Philly.

Tell the students that all movies, television programs and video games which glorify killing will be banned and see how they respond.
