The original idea of insurance companies was to assume risk for a price. Just like the idea of investment banking was to assume risk and profit. But under the R's and D's, the only one who assumes the risk is the taxpayer, and the only one who profits is the bankster.

Yes. Problem is every time we start down that path everyone freaks out. Take Lyn’ Ted, a Never Trumper that never misses an opportunity to stab Trump in the back, come up with lame excuses to vote against repeal. Repeal and replace the lying loser? Sure, absolutely, but then watch all the not-so-conservative and unprincipled people come out of the woodwork with excuses to ignore his shortcomings, lame promises he’s changed, etc. At the end of the day they’d prefer a lying loser than replace him. Sad. And we can repeat that with nearly every member of congress.
