“The Minneapolis Police were on high alert for “ambush” situations when this shooting occurred.

The location was a darkened alley or side street, the victim suddenly approached the police car from the rear, slapped her hand on the car trunk, then ran to the driver’s side window.”

In everything I have read on this case, I NEVER heard any of the above. Why was I led to believe she just ran out of her home and he shot her. He may have made a bad shoot but reading that, if it is what happened, was not jihad.

Still, he should not have been in that patrol car, period. PC is killing us.

Thank you for your post

He was in the passenger seat, and Ms. Diamond had approached the driver’s window. Jihadi Somali shot ACROSS his partner to kill her.

No matter what, that’s just horrible police work and gross negligence. He could easily have killed his partner.

We really need policemen to have some nerve, and not be trigger happy either. Fire discipline is a job requirement.

Re: “In everything I have read on this case, I NEVER heard any of the above.”

Every Police Department in America was on high alert for ambush situations in July 2017.

There were at least four assassination attempts on cops, and at least two successful assassinations, in the months preceding the Minneapolis shooting.

The NY Times report on this yesterday talks about the alley. The patrol car had all its lights off and was slowly driving forward. The uncharged cop said he heard a noise (previously described as a slap sound on the trunk). Then, both cops saw someone running toward the driver's door. The uncharged cop also unholstered his gun, but did not raise it before the accused cop fired. The uncharged cop also has said he was completely spooked by the sound and the person running to his window.
