I don’t know any 24 year olds that have skill sets to make bombs.
I’m guessing he is ex military.
Gov. Abbott was just on FOX - not ex-military. 2 roommates in Pflugerville cooperating, no job. Social media accounts intact, although bomber had ‘gone dark’ - made them harder for outsiders to access them.
Not much expertise needed to make a bomb, complete an electric loop and you have boom! Parts available at any hardware store or Walmart.
You mean like these two?
I take it that you have never watched mythbusters
The main theme of the show was making bombs and blowing things up.
I don’t know many 24 year olds with the skill sets to change their own oil.
But, that doesn’t mean its difficult.
Any tech trained high school grad, with access to the internet could do it.
But, your ex-GI bet is likely.
I keep reading the Internet has lots of bomb-making how-to instructions.
That is one element that demands immediate answers. The bomber displayed a high degree of skill, suggesting someone with extensive training in explosives—EOD perhaps, or maybe a former combat engineer?
I’m almost reluctant to even post that; I worked with EOD techs at various points in the military career. To a person, they were bright, talented patriots who would never think about utilizing their training to terrorize and kill members of the general public. Also worth noting there is a mountain of material on bomb making on the interweb; if this guy began reviewing that material several years ago and made practice devices for detonation in wide open spaces, he might have acquired enough knowledge and skill to carry out his campaign without the benefit of military training.
The internet has everything.
Do you think guys in the military are taught bomb-making?
I'm an Ordnanceman in the Navy and I never went to bomb-making school nor do I know anyone who did.
Honeywell makes bombs. Raytheon makes bombs. Guys in the military don't make bombs but anyone with courage and motivation can go on-line and figure out how to make things explode.
