The beaches look the same to me as they did 30 years ago.
Yes, I hope someone has pictures of Stinson beach from 50 years ago, showing nothing has changed.
The last thing I want is California communities leading the way anywhere. They only thing they appear to be good at is making things more expensive and driving sane people to move out of state.
And to whatever degree they do look different it is due to a combination of sand mining for incorporation into concrete, and a reduction in sand repopulating beaches due to more dams and other river management projects that keep new silt away from beaches.
The beaches may LOOK the same, but you are actually ten miles further inland than you were 30 years ago! That’s how much sea levels have risen. It happened so slowly you didn’t even see it was happening. The cool thing is SCUBA diving to your old neighbors now-submerged houses. Underwater looting and archeology are all the rage now. You should join the fun.
Bingo!
I've been visiting the Jersey shore for almost fifty years and it's in the same place it always was; nobody has their beach chair in the middle of Ocean Avenue.
Facts are stubborn things
Yep. I lived in Florida for 32 years and every time I'd go to the beach it was always in the same damn place it was before.

30 years ago maybe, but 50 years ago, ALL SoCal Beaches were full of Tar from mass seepage in the Santa Monica Bay. Pumping the Oil out and into our Gas Tanks is what Saved California Beaches.
