He won’t be gone. The Republicans will find a way to botch the election.
The way I see it, the republicans got the result they wanted. They are still working hard to be returned to minority status. Although being in the majority hasn't been much of a setback to the plan, they have the "need 60 votes n the Senate" excuse for passing an all-liberal agenda.
A lot of very well known Alabamian Republicans are gearing up to take him on.
My prediction is Moe Brooks or Bradley Byrne beats him in his first ever reelection bid.
That is in 2020, which would have been Jeff Sessions’ reelection had he not signed up to be Trump’s recused Attorney General.
