Members of the House of Representatives had 1,000 minutes—overnight—to read a 2,232-page bill that spends $1.3 trillion.

On Wednesday, March 21, the House Appropriations Committee put out a press release headlined “Government-Wide Funding Legislation Released.”

“The bill contains the full legislation and funding for all of the 12 annual Appropriations bills,” said the release. “It totals $1.3 trillion, including $78.1 billion in funding for the Global War on Terror (GWOT)/Overseas Contingency Operations (OCO). Total base funding, excluding OCO and emergencies, is $1.2 trillion.”

At the bottom of the press release, the committee included a link to the House documents page where “the text of the legislation” was available.

Trump could veto the bill, and tell Ryan fund the wall, cut funding for PP, cut funding for Ocare and cut out the waste. Now the Dems in the Senate would never agree and that would force Mitch to go nuclear and abolish the 60 vote closure rule. Risky but doable if the GOP sticks together, meanwhile blame the Rats for the shutdown by not passing a spending bill.

Once again, this goes to show that the GOP is no better than the Rat party. We've all been fooled, hoodwinked.

There's only way left to fix this mess, that's to drag them all out of their offices and throw them out. That's it. It's the only way.

“Trump can’t do everything on his own.”

Everything? Hell, I’d be happy if he did SOMETHING... at all... on such matters. All this talk of timing and urgency is silliness. He could have been threatening veto long ago.

I’m not Never-Trump, but I’m also not a Trump-can’t-be-wrong guy - which is even worse. Trump is great on some things, mostly international and executive level things.

He stinks when it comes to negotiating with The Hill, defending our 2A rights and internal policy in general. At least from the perspective of a Free Republic.

I think he needed Newt as chief of staff all along.

They have no time for something trivial as a budget. After all, they're far too busy playing Magnum PI, Perry Mason, or any other "ACTOR" on one of the countless espionage series on television/movie. Being in GOVERNMENT is spit polishing your own STAR. (not to mention increasing the weight of your pockets/size of your wallet.) "Fed UP" is rapidly turning to LIVID We AMERICAN citizens have had just about enough. The pot will soon boil over. All that is needed is just a bit more heat, and time.

Absolutely. The RINOS have revealed themselves to be liars and they misrepresented themselves as conservatives. Hopefully enough MAGA candidates will be able to defeat them down the road.

Here’s a thought: Vote no to get more time.

This is the only acceptable answer. It was wrong when Pelosi and her cronies tried to ram legislation through this way... and it's still wrong now.

This bill includes gun control

It has fix NICS, the school security money (pork) and the CDC exception, so now they will go back to their antigun propaganda role. But none of those are "gun control'. There's no magazine size, assault weapon ban or anything close.

This is a DEMOCRAT bill and we are in charge!

No, we're not The Dems effectively control the Senate. Just compare House bills and what passes the Senate.

we have passed more gun control in the last year than we did in eight years of obama.

Like what?

This is stupid to misrepresent this this way. You take 20 staffers already on the payroll, have them read a share of the bill which will constitute around 112 pages apiece. Then they write a synopsis on it and give it to their representative. And they will have 16 hours and 40 minutes to accomplish it. No one does work like this by themselves. They pay select people to do it. It’s called delegation. They tried to present this crap this way at the ACA vote. It isn’t rocket science and all it takes is a little teamwork and honesty.

Well, either that or you could leaf to the back of the bill and read the couple pages of the bill summary.

"...Newt as chief of staff..."

I'm not smart enough to know which role, but I do think Newt should have one. Newt has experience doing two things neither Trump nor modern R's in general seem capable of doing or even willing to try:

He was a presiding force in balancing the budget.

He was instrumental to winning the House using a now-extinct honest and positive national appeal for debate and votes upon a short list of right-leaning and widely appealing proposals.

All we get the past several cycles is the same exact garbage we are being sold with this bill today:

1) do the wrong thing today because... otherwise media will hate us more.

2) send the party and the PACs more money because... the world is ending... still, again this cycle too.

3) if we win, things will be different next time because... we promise.

The part I don't understand about some Trump supporters is that they want him to fire or hang everybody in sight when it comes to quick justice for the deserving DC dregs. Yet on the gigantic rights and budgets matters, they are OK with him being either flat out wrong or simply lacking will.

He is our last line of defense against the whores on the Hill who are literally stealing massive money from our kids and their kids - and disgustingly self-congratulating about it. In a very real sense these too-young-to-vote and not-born-yet generations are suffering huge taxation without representation. That used to be something to war over. Now it is hailed as strategic courage. BS.

It is nonsense for people to suggest Trump doesn't have a primary role and corresponding responsibility regarding legislation. He's got the pen and a big mouth - use them.

For God's sake, when it comes to holding back this enemy internal TRUMP IS THE WALL !

And today it's crumbling.
