“Sanctuary Cities and Planned Parenthood get FULL funding.”

Worse, the d**n Republicans fully funded Obamacare, thus saving his signature “achievement.” What a bunch of dummies or knaves.

We have people in both Parties who are establishment defenders and want nothing more then for Trump to fail.

They are the enemy not Trump.

“You have to learn to weigh things in this game.”

this is George H.W. Bush stuff (read my lips). The dems will beat him over the head with being a big spender and then beat him some more over DACA and illegals during the mid-term. I think this was a mistake. I am not abandoning him, but I ain’t happy.

He's been assimilated. He's part of the swamp, now.

That didn't take long.

I guess they all would rather have Hillary in office instead?

Between this bill losing the house and maybe the senate in 2018, I don't see how we'd have been much worse off with sHrillary.

Yes. Far worse than folks here think. Perpetual OP Tempo and the multi year sequestations have run the armed forces capabilities down to a crisis level.

Time to start looking for someone else to run in 2020. He will not even finish his term now.

...

This is a huge defeat, but who can do better?

I don’t think so. I believe it depends on the law and on whether there is any legal challenge to a failure to spend.

Trump is sworn to uphold the law and he has to spend according to the law as long as their is a congressional appropriation. So it really depends on how the individual laws are written.

But just having an appropriation does not mean he has to spend it.

They gave him $1.6 billion for the wall. If he can build a wall for $160 million, nothing says he has to spend the other $1.44 billion. But a legal challenge could come in the form of someone saying that the $160 billion wall was inadequate in some way and that the administration needed to spend more as authorized by congress. And a judge could agree and tell the admin to spend more.

That’s a bad example because Trump asked for a lot more than 1.6 billion.

Social Security is an area where the law is written that there is no flexibility. Recipients are entitled to the money and failure to pay would certainly result in a lawsuit.

The day it became clear that MAGA is a lie.

Goodbye, Mr. Trump, enjoy the rest of your presidency, however long it may be.

You’ve got it exactly backwards. We failed Trump by electing garbage like McConnell and Ryan. Go look in the mirror. There’s the problem.

What happened when one lone nut started putting bombs in the mail in Austin TX?

Imagine 10,000 doing the same thing?

Civilization is very fragile. We all ready are staining it to the limits with the current insanity pretending to be a society.

What happens when the Right side start fighting as dirty as the Left?

CA is all ready in open defiance of the Feds. What happens when it is 15-20 red states?

Read what people were saying before the US Civil War. It was deemed impossible then too.

Trump blinked. In the end its the same thing as before. The swamp wins—as always.

A bit hyperbolic. Trump used the occasion to explain why he signed the bill. The removal of the sequester cap on the military is the most issue in terms of national defense.

A veto would not achieve anything at this point. Trump did say that this would be the last such bill he would sign. Obama never had a real budget signed and so far, neither has Trump.

People forget Trump has been in power for just 14 months. Let's see what happens in October when we start the process all over again.

Trump got us out of TPP and the Paris Climate Accord. He appointed a conservative SCOTUS justice. He moved our embassy to Jerusalem. He is going after sanctuary cities and enforcing our immigration laws. He is renegotiating NAFTA and other trade agreements. He is getting NATO members to honor their pledge of spending 2% of GDP on defense. And I predict he will ditch the Iran agreement in a month. He has already decided not to recertify it.

Trump has instituted tariffs on foreign steel and aluminum as well as additional penalties on China for stealing our intellectual property.

Trump is cleaning house in DC among his own staff. Look for indictments against former high level officials in the FBI, DOJ, State, and the Intel community.

Every day I get up with a smile on my face and a spring in my step knowing that Hillary Clinton is not in the WH. Trump is fighting the Dems, MSM, RINOs, #NeverTrumpers, and the corporate globalists. Trump is fighting on. Name the person whom you want to run in the primary against Trump.

No DACA in this bill, he wants to give citizenship to DACA recipients, not send them packing. Trump said, I wanted to address DACA but Democrats would not let me. He was talking to the DACA people. Keeping their hopes up, thinking this is a winning strategy.

I think this was a test, by President Trump, to gauge exactly how much the American people are for his MAGA agenda, via how much influence we the people actually have on congress.

And we failed miserably.

There’s no point in fighting for people who are not willing to fight. We’re too busy pointing fingers and blaming everyone except ourselves. We get the governmemt that we deserve.

The only recourse at this point is a wholesale firing of every federal government official and employee and starting over.

And a full blown civil war against said federal employees, because that’s what it will come down to, because they won’t give up that power without a fight.

Anyone else feel betrayed? I really thought Trump was different (silly me for trusting any politician), but the sad fact is, he's not. He's either weak or foolish, and right now it doesn't make much of a difference which. Vetoing this bill was a no-brainer--an easy decision if he really intended to keep his campaign promises--and he couldn't do it.
