Yes, I wanted him to veto the bill. He’s not CEO, He’s President and he’s elected by the people and their electors, not Congress. He does not answer to Congress.
It's easy to forget this because we've grown accustomed to a lazy, detached Congress ceding their authority to the executive branch over the years, but the President actually has very little power to act on his own.
