I don’t think Travis was SAC; I thought it was MAC. After the big realignment in 1992, when SAC went away, Military Airlift Command turned into Air Mobility Command, and Travis is Air Mobility Command.

I know Travis became MAC in 1966, then I guess MAC became AMC (same mission, different name). I got out in 1974 and I know USAF has changed mightily since those days.
